RIVERMEN ADD UCONN PRODUCT JORDAN SIMS

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Wednesday that University of Connecticut product Jordan Sims has been signed for the 2014-15 season. Sims, 24, is the son of former Boston Bruins defenseman Al Sims, who played nearly 500 games in the NHL.

Illinois Pro Sports (owner of the Peoria Rivermen) is proud to be a business partner of the Chicago Blackhawks for the second straight season. “We want to take a page out of the Blackhawks’ book and use their expertise to build and restore the excitement of professional hockey back in central Illinois," Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers said. Founded in 1926, the Blackhawks are an “Original Six” National Hockey League franchise.
