RIVERMEN SIGN WESTERN MICHIGAN PRODUCT

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced Thursday the team has signed Western Michigan University product Ben Warda (pictured) to a training camp contract. In addition, forward Mitchell Deruelle has been released.

Illinois Pro Sports (owner of the Peoria Rivermen) is proud to be a business partner of the Chicago Blackhawks for the second straight season. “We want to take a page out of the Blackhawks’ book and use their expertise to build and restore the excitement of professional hockey back in central Illinois," Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers said. Founded in 1926, the Blackhawks are an “Original Six” National Hockey League franchise.
